Peace – Pacific Baroque Festival 2025: Peace, Friendship and Joy

February 20 @ 11:00 am - 12:00 pm

$30 – $35

Acclaimed soprano Dorothee Mields (Germany) and the ensemble La Modestine will explore heartfelt works inspired by the 30 Years War.
The German Reformation initiated by Martin Luther, along with the invention of the printing press, led to religious and cultural unrest, culminating in the Thirty Years’ War (1618-1648). Remarkably, the turbulence of one of the most brutal conflicts In Europe’s history actually resulted in an exceptionally fertile time in the arts, with writers, artists and composers reflecting the horrors of war and the longing for peace and heavenly pleasures, themes which will are expressed in this concert’s program. 3rd concert of Pacific Baroque Festival 2025. Complimentary coffee hour beforehand begins at 10 AM..

With her enchantingly beautiful soprano voice, Mields brings the sound of this era back to life – no vibrato, yet extremely versatile, flawless in sound and immensely transformative. – GK, Crescendo, 2021
