“Rusalka” is based on Hans Christian Andersen’s “The Little Mermaid”. Disney adapted and changed the original story to have a happy ending unlike the original. Although mostly known by American audiences as the composer of the stirring “New World Symphony”, Antonin Dvořák was a prolific composer of opera and “Rusalka” is among the most frequently performed operas around the world.

Sung in Czech with English Subtitles. Pre-concert lecture in the hall 45 minutes prior to performance.
