Fundraiser: Speaker to highlight the story behind Rev. Martin Luther King Jr.’s iconic ‘I Have a Dream’ speech

March 16 @ 12:00 pm - 1:30 pm

Free

THE CALENDAR IS WRONG BELOW. MARCH 16 IS A SUNDAY, WHICH IS WHEN THIS EVENT TAKES PLACE
The Rev. Martin Luther King Jr.’s address, forever known as the “I Have a Dream” speech, almost never happened, said motivational speaker Art Broady of Tri-Cities.
With gospel music by soloist Daphne Jackson, Broady will be in Walla Walla to give a multi-media presentation about the little-known way that speech unfolded.
Broady’s free talk, “The Dream … We Almost Never Heard,” will be at noon Sunday, March 16, at First Congregational Church, 73 S. Palouse St.
Freewill offerings will be accepted to benefit the First Congregational Church community soup lunch program that’s provided three times a week.
