Freedom Day NAAM

March 21 @ 10:00 am - 5:00 pm

The Northwest African American Museum (NAAM), the premier institution for showcasing African American art, history, and culture in the Pacific Northwest, offers two free admission days this month, recognizing the 60th anniversary of “Bloody Sunday” on March 7 and the third and final march from Selma to Montgomery on March 21.

Freedom Day at NAAM celebrates history, culture, equity, and freedom while highlighting the importance of sharing these ideals with ALL members of the community. Freedom Day is a FREE admission day at NAAM that spotlights significant and sometimes lesser known moments throughout history that have worked to advance freedom for all.

On Friday, March 7th and Friday, March 21 from 10AM to 5PM, NAAM will commemorate the courageousness and sacrifice of the civil rights activists who marched for voting rights for Black Americans on what is now known as “Bloody Sunday.”
