Anora
KPAC presents ANORA, the winner of this year’s Palme d’Or. Anora, a young sex worker from Brooklyn, meets and impulsively marries the son of an oligarch. Once the news reaches Russia, her fairytale is threatened as his parents set out for New York to get the marriage annulled. Another marvelous chronicle of America’s strivers by writer-director Sean Baker given some extra pizzazz by Mikey Madison’s brassy performance, Anora is a romantic drama on the bleeding edge. A must-see for filmgoers craving smart, cutting-edge drama for adult audiences.
