CWU Guest Artist Chor Anno in Concert

Chor Anno, winners of the 2024 American Prize in Choral Performance, will be in residence as CWU Guest Artists from May 16-17. They will be hosting workshops for CWU Music Education students on Friday, May 16 from 7-9pm and collaborating with the CWU Chamber Choir in a joint concert Saturday, May 17 at 2pm in Hertz Concert Hall.

A semi-professional choir with members from all over the NW, Chor Anno is co-winner of The American Prize in Choral Performance, 2024 in the community division. Chor Anno was selected from applications reviewed recently from all across the United States.

The members of Chor Anno are largely choral educators, professional singers, and composers, many of whom are alumni of CWU. The group was founded in 2009 by J. Howard Meharg who still acts as Associate Conductor to Dr. Nicole Lamartine. Chor Anno meets once in the fall for a rehearsal weekend and performs one concert weekend per year. CWU Alumni who sing in Chor Anno include: Kim Claassen, Billy Buhl, Daniel Schreiner, Philip Denton, Mike Scott, Jackie (Medina) Green, and Nelson Green.
