“The President’s Own” United States Marine Band Concert

Central Washington University Bands is excited to sponsor a special performance by the United States Marine Band, “The President’s Own,” on Tuesday, October 29, 2024, at 7:30 PM in Nicholson Pavilion at Central Washington University. Conducted by Lieutenant Colonel Ryan Nowlin, who has led the band since 2023, this concert offers the public a unique opportunity to experience one of the world’s most celebrated musical ensembles. Admission is free, with tickets required for entry.

Led by Lt. Col. Ryan Nowlin – A Legacy of Musical Excellence
As America’s oldest continuously active professional musical organization, “The President’s Own” United States Marine Band was founded in 1798. Throughout its 226-year history, the band has served as the musical representative for the President of the United States and has performed for every U.S. president since John Adams. Today, the band continues to uphold its tradition of musical excellence, performing at the White House and other national ceremonies while offering public concerts that inspire audiences across the country.

A Program of Diverse Musical Masterpieces
The October 29 concert will feature a wide variety of musical selections, from the beloved marches of John Philip Sousa to orchestral transcriptions and contemporary compositions. This program will showcase the Marine Band’s extraordinary versatility and highlight the ensemble’s ability to perform across a range of musical styles with precision and emotion. The concert will also include a special tribute to veterans and active-duty service members, underscoring the band’s long-standing connection to the nation’s military.

This event is free and open to the public, but tickets are required for entry. Seating is general admission, and attendees are encouraged to arrive early, as doors will open at 6:30 PM.
