Gesa Power House Theatre proudly presents Science Circus on Sunday, November 3, 2024, at 2:00 PM.
Science Circus combines Newtonian physics with a delightful mix of comedy and circus arts. This entertaining and educational show teaches students about gravity through bowling ball juggling, gyroscopic stability with glass bowl spinning, centripetal force using cowboy lariats, center of balance on a tall unicycle, and inertia with the classic tablecloth pull. Adding an irresistible force of levity, Science Circus captivates audiences of all ages.
About the Artist
Rhys Thomas is a celebrated performer and educator who masterfully blends science, comedy, and circus arts. Creator of the Science Circus, he teaches Newtonian physics through entertaining acts like bowling ball juggling, glass bowl spinning, and unicycling. His sequel, Gollyology, expands into the scientific method and more. Rhys, who humorously claims an M.F.A. (Master of Frivolous Arts), has dazzled audiences at museums, schools, and festivals across seven countries. Recognized as Best American Act in Japan’s World Cup Street Performer Competition and honored with an Oregon Arts Fellowship, Rhys’s greatest joy is his family. He lives in Oregon with his wife Maria and their multi-talented daughters, Isabel and Matilda.
