The Olympia Chamber Orchestra Presents: Faust & Fate

October 27 @ 2:30 pm - 4:30 pm

$5 – $15

Embrace the spooky atmosphere of October as the Olympia Chamber Orchestra unveils its 2024-2025 season with our first concert, “Faust & Fate.” Set for October 27 at 2:30 pm, this event is a must-attend for families seeking a festive evening.
Experience the shadowy ambience of the Faust legend through two distinct lenses: Emilie Mayer’s dramatic Faust Overture and Charles Gounod’s enchanting Ballet Music from his opera, Faust. These pieces vividly depict the mysticism and drama of the classic tale, each offering a unique interpretation.
The program features other spooky music, with additional works ranging from Peter Josef von Lindpaintner’s Overture to Der Vampyr (The Vampire) to the powerful and immediately recognizable sound of fate in the first movement of Beethoven’s Symphony No. 5. Adding to the October mood, Gounod’s whimsical Funeral March of a Marionette and Sibelius’ poignant Valse Triste will also be performed.
“Faust & Fate” offers a captivating blend of dramatic and spooky music, perfect for a memorable family outing. Don’t miss this enchanting start to the orchestra’s new season! Be sure to wear your Halloween costume!
The concert is on Sunday, October 27 at 2:30 pm, and will take place at the Capital HS Performing Arts Center, 2707 Conger Ave NW, Olympia, WA 98502. Secure your tickets and find more details at OlympiaChamberOrchestra.org.
