Body found outside WSU dorm

PULLMAN, Wash. (Murrow News 8) – WSU Police are investigating the death of a “college-aged” male after finding a body early Thursday morning on campus.

According to a release from WSU Police, they responded to a call at 12:39am near the Stephenson complex at 1245 NE Stadium Way.

Later Thursday morning, the WSU police listed the incident as a “suicide death” on their daily crime and fire log, though the department would not confirm that.

WSU Police Chief Gary Jenkins told Murrow News 8 they found the male outside, south of the dorm’s towers.

At this time, they have not released a cause of death, and are working with the Whitman County Coroner’s Office.

Police said there is no active threat to the community.

If you are in need of help and would like someone to talk to, the 24-hour Suicide and Crisis Lifeline can be reached by dialing 9-8-8.
