AMBER Alert canceled for Tri-Cities boy, double murder suspect self-inflicts gunshot after police pursuit

The manhunt for Elias Huizar is over. The missing boy was not harmed, according to police. Investigators say Huizar shot himself after a police pursuit in the Eugene, Ore. area. West Richland Police say Huizar’s condition is unknown.

Washington State Patrol said 39-year-old Elias Huizar is believed to have killed two women and taken his one-year-old son on Monday. West Richland Police say Portland Police advised them that Huizar was seen in Portland, Oregon overnight in a black car.
The AMBER Alert says Huizar is believed to have murdered his ex-wife and another person. One was shot outside William Wiley Elementary School in West Richland, Washington on Monday afternoon.
Roman is the one-year-old child missing. He is two feet tall and weighs roughly 25 pounds. Roman has brown hair and brown eyes. His clothing is unknown. Elias Huizar is described as 5’6” with a medium build, weighing about 170 pounds. He has brown hair and eyes. He was last seen wearing blue jeans, a black hat, black shoes and a black shirt.
Police say Huizar is accused of shooting a woman outside a West Richland elementary school. Police discovered the body of a second woman during a search of Huizar’s home. He is wanted in connection to the two murders and the kidnapping of Roman.
Vehicle information has been updated to a Toyota Corrolla. The AMBER Alert shows the license plate is from Washington and the number is CBZ4745.
